St John's Parish is happy to announce the opening of it's new preschool. St John's has been in the Clayton community for over 50 years! We are excited about our new preschool and hope you will come visit.
Parents looking for preschool services in the Concord/Clayton area can find them at the newly opened center at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Clayton Road. The school is currently offering tours and accepting applicants.
“St. John’s is thrilled to offer childcare services as a key part of our outreach to the community,” says Rev. Amanda May, Vicar of St. John’s-Clayton. “Early learning and socialization are key to successful children and stable families. We welcome all children, regardless of religious affiliation.”
The new facility is a play-based preschool, licensed to care for 58 children, aged two years to kindergarten entry. In addition, children still in diapers are welcome and we will assist in potty training.
The preschool curriculum features the Learning Without Tears and First 5 Literacy programs, along with weekly Chapel and emphasis on social and emotional development.
St. John’s preschool is an extension of the preschool at its sister church, St. Michael and All Angels in Concord, where Rev. May is also Vicar. The Concord preschool has been in operation since 1979. Colleen Wilson serves as executive director of both schools, with Shonece Barney in charge of the St. John’s facility. Both schools are staffed by licensed professionals and managed jointly by their respective parishes. State and Federal assistance is available for qualifying families.
St. John’s provides both full-time (5 days) and part-time (minimum 2 days) care and operates Monday through Friday, 6:15 am to 6:00 pm. Preschool core time is 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. All meals and snacks are provided and included in the tuition fee.
St, John’s Episcopal Church has been a part of the Clayton-Concord community for over 50 years. It is located at 5555 Clayton Road in Clayton.
Rev. May welcomes all to visit or to call 925-672-8855 for more information or a tour.
